Wedding season is upon us, which means, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and the inevitable weddings to follow. Once the RSVP card is sent, the dilemma of what to wear beings. Depending on how fancy or laid back a wedding is many women tend to have a difficult time finding an appropriate dress to wear. But today I’m here to save you time AND money with the perfect dress!
Over the weekend, Landon and I attended our first wedding of the year. I spotted this dress online and knew it would be perfect to wear for ANY wedding whether it be fancy or causal.
My personal favorite style of dresses are those that offer elegance without the need for much accessories and midi style dresses do just that. Midi is a term for a dress or skirt defined by its length being halfway between the knee and ankle (mid calf).
But before you go out looking for any style midi you can find, there are a few keys to wearing a midi style dress.
- Choose one that has a lighter fabric. You will want to select a fabric that is light so it doesn’t add bulkiness or weight to your figure. This particular dress is a lightweight cotton making it extremely breezy.
- Find one that has an A-line silhouette. These style of dresses are universally flattering and great for every body type. It accentuates your natural waist line and flares out towards the bottom to create a simple and elegant look.
- Wear strapped heeled sandals. This will elongate your legs and give you height without the extra weight of a clumpy closed toe shoe.
Now to the good stuff, where to buy it and more importantly, how I’m going to SAVE YOU MONEY! This dress is Free People and is called “Love Of My Life Midi Dress” and runs true to size.
Below, I have linked this dress from the Free People website where it is available in 7 solid colors.
I also found this exact dress in the neutral floral print (which I’m wearing) on Revolve and linked it below.
But me, being the Maxxinista I am, found this dress at TJ Maxx online for LESS THAN HALF the price! It is also available in two colored floral prints.
Thanks for stopping by and happy Wednesday!
